36mm or 1 7/16 wrench, give it a hit from right to the left and nut loosens

try wd40 on nut if stubborn, don't get it on the belt

AND change the hose coming off the back of the water pump. I did NOT change it last year when I replaced the pump and it began leaking last week.

The fan nut is loosened like any other nut, righty-tighty, lefty-loosey. As for the water pump, I had to remove my alternator, AC compressor, and the bracket that holds the two on to get at the bypass hose (the hose behind the water pump). I would recommend replacing it, as well as the return tube (hard tube off the right side of pump). Get a new O-ring for the tube, use RTV around tube above the O-ring, clean up mating surface on block really good, use new hose clamps on the bypass hose, just overall be really thourough because it's a pain in the @ss to get back at all of this when you find out you have a leak.
