I've got a '04 CC 4X4 with the 3.7L V6 and stick. What kind of info is out there on this engine? It seems everything is geared towards the 3.9L. I'm thinking intake and exhaust at some point in time, maybe even a TB. How many other people are running with this powerplant?

I guess only people with a brand new truck.

I've got it in a Jeep Liberty and it doesn't need any mods.

The 3.7 is just too new to have much information here. The 3.9 has been around for a good while. You can be one of the first to post any problems, likes & dislikes, and mods of the engine. Many of the good mechanics here can help, but not too many have that engine. Good luck.

A lot of guys with the 3.7 are changing out the
throttle body for the 4.7 body with a cold air
set up and adding a low restriction muff and they
run strong

No cams or aftermarket parts avalible yet

SO FAR THERE IS NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO BUT EXHAUST...REMOVE CATS..COLD AIR INTAKE MEANT FOR A 4.7...I AM ALSO THINKING A PAXTON SUPER CHARGER FOR A 4.7 WOULD WORK BIENG ALL PART #'S ARE THE SAME ON 99% OF COMPONENTS ON THE FRONT OF THESE MOTORS..

Thanks everyone. I had a feeling that was going to be the answer. I did a '3.7' search here and all I could find was '03 postings asking about the new motor.

Larry - Are you saying that all I have to do is venture forth to Ye Olde Picke-and-Pulle, find a 4.7 TB and slap it on my 3.6 for hp gains beyond the realm of mortal men? What is the throat size difference between the two? Would it be worth it to save my money and get a larger sized F&B?

What I'm looking to do in the future is this:

Cold Air Intake
Bigger TB
Some Kinda Exhaust.....

I like the 'Z' Tube here: http://www.intenseperformance.com/products/Stage/stage.html (almost at the bottom of the page)
There is some kind of sensor on my V6 airhat, that I'm not too sure where it would plug in on the Tube. I just like it because it's a simple tube that goes right to where I would want my filter.

As long as I'm ripping airhats off, I might as well do the TB as long as it doesn't void any warranty. Would hate to chuck 3 years of coverage after 3 months...

AND of course all that sweet, sweet air needs someplace to go after combustion, so I'll probably end up with a Gibson single. I'm not looking for rumble or anything. Just something quiet and high flowing.

I got a V6 mainly for fuel mileage. Yes, there isn't much a difference between the 6 and the 8 (with the 8 sometimes being better), but the real savings come from me not jamming my foot through the floor 'cuz I gots a Big-Ol'-Honkin'-V-Freaking-8. I'm buying a co-worker's K-Wacker 650KLR as transpo back and forth to work (17 miles RT), so the $600 or so I need to spend on aftermarket stuff will need to be budgeted out.

Thanks again for all your input!

Bruce
