I did the TPS modification that is shown at speedtweaks.com, set the TPS at .71 volts, and now I have a check engine light. I have a 1998 V6 4x4. Before doing the mod. my voltage reading was about .6 volts. This is open for anyone to jump in on. Thanks in advance. Relf.

You get a check engine light anytime you check the voltage on the TPS... now you either gotta reset the pcm, have it cleared, or I think after so many restarts it's sposed to go out.

Yes if you had the key on at any time while the
TPS was unpluged it will give you a mil light

Checking the volts with key on or running should
not give you any mil light

Yes it will go away after a few starts and
completly remove itself after 50 starts you will
no longer find it with a scanner

Thanks Larry. I did the TPS just as instructed. I checked the center terminal with a multitester and got a reading of .59 volts with the key in the on position. Then, I turned off the key, removed TPS, drilled it, installed it, plugged it in, key on, adjust w/ meter to about .71 volts, locked it down and re-checked the voltage. I then turned the car off, then started it, got the "check engine" for a few more starts, then no more. Works fine now! Next on my list is cleaning the T.B. per the instructions on last week's posts. Relf.
