G'day dingo here again, could someone enlighten me as to what type of engine coolant/antifreeze Dodge recommends running in 2002 3.9L V6, either
ethylene glycol, extended life or propylene glycol. And by the way I know "Amsoil" makes a good propylene glycol product!!!!(just a little aussie humor)

I know that you should never mix the two otherwise it turns into this gel type substance which makes it harder to cool the engine. Sorry don't know the recommendation from Dodge. You can change fluid types as long as you do a very thorough cleaning of the old fluid to avoid mixing them when you refill. So you'd really need to take your drain plug(s) out on the block.

Thanks "another mark" I found out that 2002's and later use Ethylene Glycol based coolants with a long life corrosion inhibitor called HOAT (hybrid organic additive technology) and Dodge recommends using it warning that other types may damage your engine components and harm your new vehicle warranty. Ford also uses this type. Interesting reading at the following url:-)

you can mix the green and orange only if the orange is an off-brand. You cannot mix green with the actual dexcool labeled from GM. The off-brands like Prestone Extended life you can mix.

and yes... i have mixed prestone.
