 Subject: converting 2wd-4wd

I have a 02 Dodge Dakota 2wd 3.9l v-6 standard cab. I was wondering how much is involved in converting it into 4wd. Also if it was even impossible and how money is involved. If there also any good websites to get parts to complete the project. If you can help me I would appreciate that. Thank you.

more than likely a project like that on a late model truck would be way more than its worth. you might as well trade it in for a comparable year and model with 4wd standard. youd need a transfer case, front differential/suspension/axles, some sort of shifter, etc. that's just way too much hassle

Definitely sounds like more work and $ than it's worth. Especially on such a new truck.
Go buy a 4x4.

Do a trade for a 4wd. Man, first it's people with 6s wanting 8s
in their truck and now this. You guys sure like doing stuff the
hard/expensive way.
