Hey guys what woould say if i can put a true dual system on 1999 V6 DAk. I mean just having the headers and two pipes coming off into a dual inlet outlet gibson muffler ,and then two exit pipes. Also there is no cat-converter.
Will this work? and will it give better gains then the normal set up?
Any thoughts on this would be great.

You would lose your low end performance due to a lack of backpressure. ONly small gains on top end would not offset your low end loss. duals are a bad idea

Duals are a bad idea in some v6 applications, but if you've done a lot of other mods to it "externally and internally" engine wise then you will gain some... Actually this really works the best on big blocks and have never tried it on a small block v6, but most builders will go straight from headers, about 3 feet then put on the muffler, then go another foot out of the end of the muffler and put a turn down on it... This way all turbulances are pretty much elliminated and allows the exhaust to flow much, much better over any other kind... BUT like I said this is mostly dragster big blocks that put out any where from 500 to 1000 + horse power...
So on the low revving V6er you would be much better off to just go with the single into dual if your going to do duals at all... That way you won't loose too much back pressure and put a good cat on it as well... The cat will help with flow and backpressure... Oh yeh carsound cats seem to be better on the v6 application that I'm running...
