I was just wondering if anyone has ever intalled actual functioning hoodscoops instead of buying the $999 fiberglass hood. I put a Holley intake on buy i'm sucking in hot air and I just wondered if anyone has used the "fake" hood scoops into working ones...i'm willing to cut a hole in my hood. Thanks.

Lund Eclisp about $60 and a few hours work,
another $60 I think for the K&N Exstream top
of course for me $0 to have it installed and
painted by one of the body guys at the shop

I'm out of southeastern connecticut. J and J, that looks really sweet. How did you fasten the scoop down? Does the double sided tape you get the scoops really hold it in place? Also my Dakota is a '99, does the curvature of the hood make it more difficut to intall? Thanks for the info.

I use to have hood scoops on my truck then I went to a cowl hood. I never made them funtional but they are around $70. You would have to glass them in to make them look funtional and then cut your hood out. My hood cost $488 but then you get a $100 off if you send a picture in of your truck with it on. I got the hood from steelhoods.com.

How about the Reflexxion steel cowl induction hood? Don't they function the same as those "$999 Fiberglass hoods" but for a lot cheaper?
