Subject: Truck Shudders Sometimes in Idle

Hey,

I have a 1994 3.9L 2WD reg. cab pickup with about 116K miles..and i've had it since july of last year. however recently i've had problems with it. first, my truck all of a sudden one sunday about 2 months ago perhaps, stalled and turned off. turn it back on, would turn back off, unless you pushed the rpms above 1800 or so- barely push pedal, would stall. took it to mechanic, had to replace eg2 (sorry do not know much about the parts- that might be wrong)- valve- the valve that regulates the gas flow or something like that..anyways, i also had a leak in my radiator so green engine coolant would be dripping out at the front of my truck. my dad decided not to have the mechanic order one and install it, but rather to save money, ordered one off of radiatorking.com - i think- and we installed a few days ago. anyways..my problem is, as of late, when i'm waiting to get out of high school at 2:30pm, when im backed up in a long line, and im just stop and go, mainly idle, once in a while my truck will like shudder and the RPMs will rise, and sometimes the truck will stall and go dead- have to go to park, turn off, turn back on, etc. it is very annoying. what is wrong with my truck?? never had any problems prior to my truck stalling a few months ago, but now its horrible...

THanks for your help.

Yeah, try your IAC... sounds like that may be it.
Best way to clean it in my opinion:
1.) Remove tb from engine
2.) Remove IAC motor (don't lose the o-ring on it)
3.) Spray the tip of the IAC plunger with carb cleaner and using an old rag, gently wipe all the carbon off the tip without twisting or pushing on the plunger. It'll ruin the IAC motor.
4.) Spray out the IAC port in the throttle body and clean it out really well with the rag. Might as well clean your entire throttle body and get all the carbon off it (throttle blades mostly).
5.) Make sure you completely dried the tb and reinstall the IAC motor (put a lil oil on the o-ring before you put it in).
6.) Reinstall the throttle body and don't forget to use a new tb gasket (Cost me like a buck something at Advance Auto Parts).
