O2 simms are more for when you remove the
cat/s , i.e. dragstrip conversion.

Do you have to get emissions checked in your
locality ?
Second O2 sensor checks cat efficiency.
Maybe cat is getting bad ?
Sim is probably just a resistor, which would give
computer a constant signal to stop codes..
cat or no cat..would not know the diff..

dont have to get emmisions checked, but think the o2 is failing. Any idea of the resitor that is needed to trick the pcm into running its best?

i don't think the sim gives a constant reading as the o2 sensor constantly flips between .001 to .9 hook up a scanner to your truck and see for yourself

if you gave the pcm a constant value it would think the o2 was bad and the MIL would come on

The o2 sims were created for emmisions reasons. People would gut their cat, then fail emmisions for a bad cat, OBD 2 especially. The 02 sensor after the cat is there to measure the effiency of the cat and if its working properly, and if its reading is the same as the pre-cat o2 sensor, or its out of its parameters then its telling the computer your cat is not working how it should. too make a long story short, just put another o2 sensor in it and dont mess with the simm . The simm was made to help people with gutted cats pass emissions.
