Subject: this TPS reading look normal to you

Read some posts on the values for checking whether the sensor
is good or not and I used a voltmeter to determine the range
from .5 volts to 3.3 volts at WOT. I also used my scanner and it
shows the TPS having a range from 10% to 66% at WOT.
Shouldn't it go all the way down to 0% and up to 100% at WOT?

that's what I always wondered. But supposedly the computer learns that the 66% is 100% or that's what I have been told.

That 66% seems a little low but might be OK for a Dodge. Toyota TPS sensors read from 7% to 83% on a scantool. Sicminds is on the right track, The percentage shown on the scantool is derived from the voltage output of the sensor. A sensor should never read 0 volts and it should never read a full 5 volts. Thats how the computer determines if the sensor or wiring harness is damaged. If the computer saw a 5 volt signal it would determine that there is an open somewhere in the circuit and turn on the check engine light. The lowest you should ever see for a sensor is about .5 volts and the highest is about 4.5 volts. The computer knows that 66% is WOT and 10% is closed throttle.

my TPS is at .707 should I adjust to .75? Nah too much work for very little gain.
