How important are the pipes after the muffler? I already know that I will be using turndown tips after the muffler, my question is, Is it worthwhile to use a dual out muffler (Flowmaster Delta 40) if I only put turndown tips coming off of it, no exit pipes. I guess the question is will my performance be affected by no pipes after the muffler, and will it make any difference between the single out or dual out? Thanks

with your sixer it would be better to just use a single out because with out a tailpipe you would be cutting back on your back pressure and sixes work better with one big exhaust....i haven't had a tailpipe on mine in a long time (won't fit anymore) and the only problem is it gets kinda annoying in the cab at times.

What is the reccomended pipe size for the V6. I was thinking 2.25. Also, what are the pro's/con's of the in/out of mufflers? For example, in pipe in the middle, outpipe in the middle, as oppsed to in pipe in the middle, out pipe on the side? Anything? Thanks again all!

around the cat is 2.5....a rule of thumb is you always want to increase pipe size as you go away from the motor....the in/outs is only to fit different applications.....no performance gain.
i believe if you want just replace the stock muffler you would need a center/center. i have a center/offset because i have no tail pipe.

I am not using pipes after the muffler. My plan is to just put a turndown tip on the muffler. In this case should I get an offset exit? My entire exhaust will look like this:
New JBA ceramic coated headers
New high performance cat(maybe, heard this wasn't neccesary)
Flowmaster 40 series Delta Muffler
I was just going to have a shop weld everything together. Does this sound ok?
