Loose ground? How long have you had truck and has it done this before? Gauge cluster loose? Bad sensor(s). Bad PCM?

i very much doubt its a problem with the PCM, and the fuel gauge since ive had the truck *2 years, has never worked... just lately, have the gauges been real fidgety... its not bad, but only sometimes

i dont know that its a ground, and i know that gauge cluster is in there...

theres no reason the speedo should do it, its not electronic - theres a cable that runs to the tranny where theres a speed sensor.

could well be PCM if bad wires from/to it, it will do this.. however symtoms are classic for a bad rear axle speed sensor or transmission speed sensor being bad and needing replaced.

im thinking bad rear speed sensor... both my antilock and my parking brake lights are on, and for a while would flash 7 times, remain on, and keep doing that...

it was all fine until i had a wreck and fixed it...

how would a wreck that destroyed the front of the truck destroy a speed sensor in the rear axle? i know its possible.. but just curious.

i also noticed in the accident, i left 68 some odd feed of rubber from the front tires, but the rears didnt so much as chirp...

cars vs trucks... its like appeles to oranges... you cant pull a 13 second 1/4 like some of the guys on this site can, and they also have a big piece of sheet metal pulling wind down inside making it hard to go faster.

btw did you read the article about the SRT10 Ram, it has the fastest land speed for a production truck, off the assembly line. 154.## mph - make your buick beat that butthead.

haha uncle fester - got you there...

temp volt and fuel gauges have nothing to do with rear wheel speed sensor being out

it's something more common if it is affecting so many systems

without knowing what year your truck is makes it harder to diagnose

the 97+ up dakotas have 2 front wheel speed sensors, i think you mentioned a front end accident?

I have a 92.. my stereo would explain why the volts go all screwy, the temp gauge only does it so often and the connectors for it are all dinked up, as for the speedo, im thinking the r/w wpeed sensor may be fried as the parking brake and antilock brake lights are both on..

That last bit suggests a problem in the circuit board behind the dash. Pull the cluster and check the board. I think you have a ground problem there.
