it's on the passenger side cover not the driver's side, the driver's

hehehe. yeah, i had a problem today too.
finally got it out. just keep pulling, maybe try pliers.

i asked my dad for help and he went and got his favorite shadetree mechanic's tool - a crowbar! heh. not on my truck!
pliers worked.

I just took mine out on Friday and I had to use plyers. It has some junk built up around it. I did have to replace the grommett as well though.

Get a new grommet at any autoparts store. They are in the aisle where all those "HELP!" replacement parts are like trim screws and panel clips. Take your old one with you.

Just a routine maintenance item to check, if you shake it and the
check ball doesn't rattle replace it or have problems It's only like
$3.

any body have any idea why dodge says to replace the pcv valve not to clean it. I have been cleaning them for years with no problem.

its only $3 and 0 time, rather than cleaning with some chemical, only doing half as good a job, and taking more time.

why NOT just replace?

u replace the pcv valve b/c it causes oil pressure to increase and it can cause your rear main seal to go or cause other costly problems if it goes unchecked for a long time. my friend just had to put a new rear main oil seal in his ranger. we took out the pcv valve and it was burnt looking. from what we could tell, it looked like the factory valve and the truck was an 87 model.

Yeah , we all know about fords !!
Anyway , pcv needs to work properly to let a
predetermined amount of air in to the intake.
If it gets plugged , may have idle problems
and mpg will go down..
