Sorry to keep bugging you. I opened the gap on the AP3923's from 40 to 45 like you suggested and also set the TPS just slightly over .7 volts. I've got a slight ping again and the truck does not feel as powerful probly cause its relearning the tps. would opening the gap make a hotter burn or is it opposite? should i put them back to 40? just a recap.... crank sensor mod, 180 thermo, brass cap & rotor, K&N drp in. I need your expertise. thanks Larry

If the ping started from changing the gap yes try
going back to .040

Yes plugs are strage animals

small gap hot spark, opening will decrease the
intensity to a point than it will start to heat
up again the farther you open it.

Every truck is a little differant and if .040
runs good with no ping stay there

The TPS change will not create a ping

You can also try 1 grade higher fuel, most of the
trucks we work on run reg but some do develope a
ping and are runnin mid range

Only a few running premium but they are modded
very heavy

I was going to say do what ever you can to keep
the timming it helps across the entire rpm range
but is most noticeable better low end and gas mileage

defineately without a doubt!! the timing advance was the best mod yet! i was not looking for quarter mile increases or off the line. I was looking for exactly what this mod did, much much better low end, about the same at top end, don't have to accelerate nearly as hard to get any power out of the next gear. I was thinking about putting a notch in the sensor bracket so that it clears just a little more inside the bell housing to get another 1 or 2 degress. But i know nothing about this. What do you think Larry. Will I have to do anything more if I advance more? thankyou for your continued help and responses.

the truck will definitely ping if when you pull the 'tps' out you don't preload the tab when you re-install it...

i dont think you can line up the holes to fasten it unless you preload the tab, at least on the 2002's, what year do you have?

Dude...why do that sh!t? It drives us nuts when some extreme lover comes over here bragging about how he could kick all our asses with his truck and you're doing the same thing to them.
