Should shift at 4200 WOT

on the 93 just take a medium screw driver and
push the button in you will see the cable move
than pull it back from squre unit 1 click at a
time

Its on pass side just behind the steel braket on
the squre plastic part

If you have good fingers that will work to but I
have bad artritis and need the screw driver

Getting old is a lot of fun the mind says yes but
the body says no LOL

Larry, How bad is it to have the tv cable a little loose or a little too tight? I have been trying it in different spots and don't wanna wreck my recently rebuilt tranny.

The only way you can do any damage is if its to
tight and you mash the throttle to the floor and
bend the lever inside the trans.

You can check this by having the throttle at WOT
with the cable off and just pull it by hand and
be sure your throttle does not pull it past were
it bottoms out stops pulling out

I have a 97 Dakota Sport 3.9 V6, and it always shifts (auto tranny of course) around 3k RPM as well. Nothing sounds wrong.
But then again, I just got a lot of things tuned and whatnot, and I haven't checked the shifting today.
