just get a v8 one for 50 bucks in a junkyard, it works great, good noticeable difference and sure beats blowing 400 bucks (250 with a core) on the same thing and same performance gains

Best TB? Everyone has their different opinions. The stock V8 TB has nice gains for the dollar. Bernd says this is a good economy upgrade. I heard Fastman is a very good upgrade. Fastman takes a stock TB (I'm not sure if it is a V6 or V8, new or old?) and mods it. Flometrics 48mm TB is alittle better than stock V8. (I think it about 2 hp and 6-8 ft-lbs torque better than the V8 upgrade) Nice gains across the entire RPM range. It was designed to fit V6s and brand new. Bad deal, Flometrics is about $400. I decided to go with Flometrics and I have no complaints. The Alu billet does not corrode like the cast alu manifold or like the stock TB. If you want to save money go with Stock V8 TB. got money to burn or you like a billet look go with Flometrics. Middle of the road go with Fastman. I hope this provides a little insight.

I agree with the previous 2 posts; I opted for the V8 throttle body. I paid $100 total for the throttle body and cable compared to $400 for the F&B and I'm very happy with the results. If ya got money to spend look into the F&B (400) it'll give you minute gains over a V8 conversion but you're gonna pay an extra 300 bucks for the 2-3 horsepower.

Hey Harvey, it's been a while! How is everything?

I just wanted to know how the headers are working out for you since we pretty much have the same truck.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Swingman,

It took me about 4-5 hrs. What a pain. There are two precats on the y pipe that makes it difficult to reach the cone bolts. I went to Sears and got the appropriate tools. The old manifolds came off easily. I read some threads that had problems with broken stock studs on their manifolds. Bolting the headers up is a little tedious because only one bolt on each side can be turned with a ratchet. The others by open end wrench. Some good advice: remove the heat shields from the spark plugs. It will give you more room. I didn't. Live and learn. Bolting the y pipe to the headers (i used copper RTV), I needed to hold the bolt and tighten the nut. I removed the oil filter. The driver's side I used the stock bolt brace, JBA bolt and stock nuts. Worked out better. The JBA nuts are tight and broke the stock bolt brace, hence holding the bolt. Ran out of light, so the next day, I started her up and tighten down everything at least twice and third a couple days after. Curious, I re-attached the battery and my speedo was plastered at 120. Did the dial test and solved it. (scraed me)

Performance: I really didn't notice that much. No excessive noise. Headers should give better top end. I really didn't punch it yet. I'm trying to see if I get better milage. I think everything works in concert.

Visual: Like Lesly said the whole engine compartment looks alot cleaner. Nice shiney Cermamic headers.

Sorry if I talked your ear off. harvey

Thanks for the reply Harvey. Let me know how it feels on the butt dyno once you've punched it :) I'm just curious how the headers perform with the other mods on a QC.
