I've posted once before about my chargeing system not working right and I thought I had fixed my problem but after I reran new wires the problem is still the same. does any one have a good wireing diagram for a 91 dakota's chargeing system?
Also I took readings and the drivers side post on the alternator reads .1 ohms to the battery and if you go from that post to the other posts wire in the first harness it reads 12 ohms. Now if you go to the passenger side post on the alternator to the first wireing harness it is 2 ohms, and if you go from the same post to the other posts wire in that plug it reads 12 ohms just like the other side.
between the 2 posts on the alternator it reads 12 ohms and if you go from the drivers side to ground it reads .2 ohms and if you read the passenger side to positive it reads 2 ohms. if you read from the passenger side to the battery it goes up to 4 ohms.
Now I figure this is what is causeing the alternator not to charge. The only thing I can figure is that little black box that mounts to the alternator and touchs both posts is the part that is bad, but I have no idea what that part is or how to make sure this is the part that is bad.
I have got a new ecu, alternator, and battery. I have inspected my wires and made sure there were no cuts or open ended wires under the hood. (there were 2 blue wires that go to a harness that lead into the cab by the pedals but i did not follow those once it reached the firewall). I removed all the wire loom off of every wire under the hood to try to fix this problem. I cant have my truck not chrageing my other car just broke down on me and it will be awhile before I can afford the parts for it.
Also there isn't a shop that will just "help me out" they all want 80 an hour and I just cant afford that.
Please any help would be great, sorry this was so long but I need help.
