I have a 1999 3.9 dakota. from 40 to 70 MPH the engine fells like it it missing or revving. It almost feels like it wants to shift any ideas.

missing = sputtering
revving = increasing speed rapidly
wants to shift = ????
threee different concepts here guy,the first two are not comapatble. sputtering/missing feels like a loss of power revving is a rapid increase of power.
Now tell the nice people what it is really doing.
