I have done a lot of reading about dual exhaust and single in/ dual out on here, but still have some questions. Basically I just want the look of the dual exahust on my 3.9 cc. So I figured I would go with the single in dual out, however I was wondering what difference it would make on the sound, and how much it would cost me. If anyone could help I would appreciate it.

Depending on what muff you use they sound fine

Just stay with 2.25 tails don't go any bigger

2.5 single max in, dual 2.25 max out. What "sounds good" is very debateable. Watch out for the rice sound.

i went with flopro muff.1 in 2 out with custom tails out of the rear sides.looks good and pretty tame on the sound but has a good growl, cost me 300 bucks with stainless tips.i found asking for cash prices changed things a bit and the guy new exactly what i wanted, shop around is the best policy.

Forget flowmaster, go with borla or magnaflow.
I have a true dual magnaflow system on my 3.9 and it kills my friends flowmaster system, and for automotively challenged people true dual means each header gets its own muffler {i have no cats, put resonators in their place}.

all the mufflers basicly sound the same on these things. i have had 4 different mufflers on my truck and every one of them sounded the same jjust different pitches. the only one i have heard that sounded diffrent was the borla and i did not like the sound of it at all.

i have always heard that true duals on the 3.9 loses power....... it might sound great and all but power is mostly what i would be concerned with.

I've heard the same thing...though I bet if you ran em with small enough pipes, you wouldn't lose any. Of course, it'd prolly look super corny with tiny pipes. lol
