Will a more free breathing exhaust system give you better or worse gas mileage, it is less restrictive, right? I want to put a flowmaster on and i'm looking for mods that will help my mileage. I've done the crank sensor, K&N drop in, brass cap and rotor. I have a 2002 3.9 and i believe it is 2.5 in and out, correct? Which setup should i go with, centered or offcentered in, centered of offcentered out? I'm staying all single out. anyone that has done it please let me know how much extra straight pipe to get and pointers if you have any. i don't want loud exhaust, maybe something a little bit more than stock, mostly want the performance gain. I've heard alot say to get 70 series delta flow. thanks

offset in center out

Dynomax 17748 is just a little louder than stock
2.5 in and out with a overall lenght of around
22 26"

This is what I use on all the V6's unless the
customer specifies a diff brand good sound quite
in cab can hear rap under hard excelleration but
will not blow your ear drums nice deep sound at
low rpm

flowmaster 50 would be about the same
40 loud

70 quite

with a factory or mandrel 2.5 tail

The low restriction muff will help but will show
more gain once the intake side is improved
cold air bigger tb and 1.7's
