Message: At least on 95 , probably on newer as well.
Power connection to alternator uses a "speed " nut. Poor connection = heat = burn out.
Mine burned up the connector on the end of the cable , and the ' nut ' just disintegrated when I tried to remove .
Should be replaced with appropriate Solid Brass
nut.
Inspect the connector and replace if damaged .
