I see that you have a TransGo shift Kit...tell me
about it...is it worth it, does it shift hard or just
a little harder than stock....how long have you
had it and did it actually help you any?

I have heard a few bad things about it and that
it will eventually screw up your transmission
cause it was never designed to shift hard like
that....and so it will mes up that or some of the
drivetrain...what do you say on this? And if I
wanted to sell the vehicle...would they buy it
cause it shofts hard...cause they may not race
it or drive it hard!

I have also heard of potential damage caused by higher pressures of shift kits. Transgo makes a cheaper kit that is supposed to be a shift improver. What is the difference, and is the performance kit likely to do more harm than good?

The kit can be set up in 2 ways

street strip, firm but not harsh

strip race only firm hard banging shifts

In the street strip set up less slipage and heat
build up than a slow musy shift and will actualy
prolong the life of the trans

Also gives you the ability to run any gear to
red line

I had mine for about 40,000 now it shifts at
2000 1/4 throttle, 2500 1/2, 3500 3/4, 4200 floored
with a hard push it will hold the gears

TV adjustment just right, this will also change
the 1=2 shift point upto 15 20 mph with just
light throttle if you don't like that back off
on the cable untill you get it where you want it

On my stroker I run 30 in low than shift 2

You can also make the trans more agresive in its
down shifting and holding 4th and delaying lock
up with less throttle by increasing the TPS volts

92 to 95 obd 1 up to 1.2 just be sure WOT does
not ecced 4.6 4.8 volts.

running my 95 1.3 wot 4.3

96 and up obd 2 threshold of .98 anything over
1 volt will cause high idle.

After resetting this voltage start let idle shut
off, start let idle few min shut off and do not
touch the throttle at all, these 2 cycles will
learn the new setting now start and drive

You will notice a more agresive trans and better
throttle response due to the comp reading higher
volts, in a hundred miles or so you will notice
the improvements even more

TCI also makes a good kit for these transmisions
