just got done changing my plugs/cap/rotor after about 120K miles, truck was missing really bad whenever i stepped on the gas at any speed. now my baby runs great, smooth as glass...
what i'm wondering is, when i pulled the plug wires off of the terminals of the cap there was this white chalky substance on 2 of them, the other 5 were clean...what was that stuff??
also, since i hadn't changed the plugs before, they had gotten so bad that the gap on them was worn to about twice normal gap...i'm going to change the wires as soon as i can track a set down...

if the cap has aluminum terminals and contacts on the inside that go all the way through it is aluminum oxide, nothing to worry about it is just an indicator that the cap and wires were worn from a slight arc going on between them.
