Yep I still stand by my original statement :-) i get better mileage from my 4.7L, with just using amsoil 5w-30 in my engine! Next is the tranny, Xfer case, front and rear diffs, and power steering fluid (amsoil ATF) i have a tube of the moly fortified synthetic grease as well.....

2001 dakota sport clubcab with v6
what else should i plan on getting in addition to the oil and oil filter to maintain the gas mileage?
the new air filter i bought (the one that you dont discard) was supposedly to aid in gas mileage, i am not happy to report that i have noticed no significant change. i am comming up on 73k miles with 2 accidents (non-major mainly body work - thank ALFA for that) and a windshield replacement(why do those big rocks like my windsheild soo much?) in any case feel free to post your recomendation at this post: my"kota" at the "v6" section of open forums

I ran val 10-30 in my dakota. But Since buying the Audi I have switched to Amsoil 5-40 ( for euro cars) Seems like a good oil for a turbos.

- #1 - Preferred Customer Option
The Preferred Customer option is recommended for people who want the lowest possible prices on Amsoil products for their vehicles and equipment. Preferred Customers pay the same low prices for Amsoil products that Amsoil Dealers pay.

Suprised you would ask...
...and I'm sure you are suprised I have answered.
It is not so much as "what" but "where", and finding the best quality. I recommend you check out "Babes in Toyland" ... caters to women, and men that buy for their women.
It is not so much as the "type" of lubrication (as in ... "DINO" in your truck is sufficient), but the quality of the lubrication (as in "Synthetic" in your truck is better).
As when you select any oils (for your girl or your truck) your question should be which one is going to give you enhanced performance and help things last forever (in her mind, and the insides of your engine, transmission, and differential)?
Oils, Creams, Lubrication ... Quality Counts.
