I recently purchased a used 2000 dakota club cab and after driving it for about 4 days the alarm system made itself known.

I have no idea what set it off or how to keep it from happening again. Any ideas?

I bought from a checkered flag dealership and they only gave me a single key. No keypad.

Is it possible to order another keypad from somewhere? If so, where would that be?

hate the alarm....love the truck

Had a Durango that needed a remote and a Dodge Dealer said that they could get the remote and program it. The remote itself was not expensive, but the programming was for some reason. If memory serves me correctly, i think they said $75. Very pricy for that. You might want to go back to where you bought it and see if it is maybe laying around or if they can furnish one since it origanlly came with one fromthe factory (actually 2). You have little leverage since you bought it already, but it's worth a try. Good luck, and there is always a dodge dealer, maybe you can buy the remote and find someone that can program it on the side or tell you how.

as long as you use your key to make sure the locks are unlocked before attempting to enter the vehicle it won't go off again. To set the alarm just use the power door locks when the doors are open to put the door lock buttons in the down position. Or after the doors are closed, use the key to lock the doors. To turn off the alarm once set, use the key to unlock the door, once you use the key to unlock the door, the alarm is disarmed.
The dealers here in town have quoted me a price slightly over 120 bucks just to get one keyfob. way too much for me. And the aftermarket keyless systems will not disarm the alarm if it ever gets accidently set again. I already tried that.
