Which is better ( & cheaper) porting out the V6 TB or just bolting on a V8 TB?

You can port out your own v6 throttle body and achieve some very noticeable gains. Removing the torque step, cutting down the air horns and thinning the throttle plate shaft can throttle body cfm rates from 15 to 20 percent.`If you can afford it get a v8 throttle body, the gains will very good. I put a v8 throttle body on my truck, then cut the air horns down and saw a further increase, I left the v8 torque step in place this limits the opening size to 48mm. You do not want to go any larger opening on the v6 than this unless you heavily modding your truck. If money is an issue port and polish your v6 TB, try using the autolite 3923's gapped out to .045, about a buck a piece. Try the TPS modification and the IAT relocation, you could fabricate your own cold air intake, all of these will give you noticeable increases in power and mileage.

Thanks Wadak,
I just pick up some ap3923's today with a new cap and rotor.I found the info on the IAT relocation,I already have a cold air intake.I guess the TB will depend on which one I can find v6 or v8, I don't want to screw up the one I have.I can't find the info on the TPS mod. and as I was checking the archives i saw something about an S-bolt. Any clue on what that is??
Thanks again.

The s bolt replaces the bolt the bolt up assembly, the way it bolts to the TB it's pretty restictive to air flow. Another option is turn the bolt with the little plate upside down and put a bolt and nut 1/4in. thread size 20 on that plate to bolt down the air cleaner. It will work and you won't need the S-bolt unless you want to make one.
