Oh boy, where to start. I started out with a 180* thermostat a "performance" exhaust cold air intake, accell coil and super stock wires, autolite 3923 plugs, napa (borg warner?) cap and rotor, v8 throttle body, and a jet stage 2 chip (no gains felt from chip)

the biggest gain has been the new throttle body followed by exhaust, coil, and cold air intake. I don't have any idea how much i spent on it bit I have done it in a period of about 10 months.

just my .02

And I have done everything that DaffyDak has done along with headers, msd 6a, underdrive pulley, modified intake madifold, FMS fuel injectors and 1.7 Crower Roller Rockers.

Much more power and much better gas milage.

This is a question to both of you...how mush do you think you guys spent on the mods? I'm just trying to track down a budget and go on a mad shopping spree and do all the work at once.
Thanks for your info guys. I appreciate it.

P.S. - Either of you guys live in the great white north?

Daffydak, the 1.7 rockers took me 3 hours to install and todate is the best performance mod i have done. Rather than modifying my valve covers, I used Chrome non magnum 3.9L valve covers. they work great and with no midifications to them.

Dennis, I have spent about $1500. I really don't track how much I spend. The old saying "the bigger the boy, the bigger the Toy" rule applies.

so the rockers were a "drop in"? did you need any special tools and were the stock pushrods used?

thanks steve,

You use the stock push rods,

crower stainless steel about $400 need to adjust
harland sharp under $300 and just a bolt in

Injctors are also an easy mod but will not show
much gain just overall smother running motor and
most trucks show better gas mileage

Bigger TB, 1.7's and cold air you will notice a
lot better performance but I would recomend the
fastman or F&B over the V8 bodies nice gains
across the board from off idle to redline the V8
the low end will remain the same with mid and top
end gains

Racer, the cheapest place to get the crower rr's is from Sam at socaldakota.com...

Yall know anything Larry tells you on here you should really listen to... He's a genious on this stuff and can set you up with some really nice dealers to consult with... Infact I've got some questions for him later but right now I want to ask Steve Baldwin something... Where did you get the nonmagnum chrome valve covers from and how much did they cost or if you know this Larry I would very much appreciate the answer...

As for my truck I'm in the process of doing the following... Infact just ordered most of the parts this last week :))

krcperformance has superchargers as long as you don't mind putting down 4grand and a few others do as well... OR you could get one for a 5.2/5.9 for your same year model and do some modifying to it... If your lucky you can find one for them around 2500... Larry knows the other companies out there that carry the sc's for the v6's...
