1.7, no new cam, www.harlandsharp.com no valve lash
adjustment on these, haven't heard from any who installed yet
and said whether or not their valve covers needed to have the
baffles recessed 1/2" though, you can get modded valve covers
at www.socaldakota.com or try doing them yourself but do not
remove them entirely

The 1.7's are a nice upgrade and you will be very
happy with the resaults.

Unless there is something wrong with your truck
theres at least 15 hp at the wheels more and there
all the time, some will peak upto 18 if they have
more done to the motor.

Noticeable in low end torque starting at about
1800 rpm and a nice improvement in mid and top
end performance.

From a fairly easy bolt on mod.

bigger TB, cold air and the 1.7's have a nice
effect on performance with the V6 once all 3 come
togather very noticeable over stock

give them a few hundred miles to tune in

Tazzy or larry - Is it just the harland sharp 1.7's that don't need any valve cover baffle modifications, i only ask because on most previous posts it's suggested that you do the baffle mod. i've come into a little extra money and i'm thinking about the 1.7's. also larry which fms injectors are best.

99 CC Sport 3.9,Flame Red, Auto,360powershot intake,Flowmaster DF40 3/2.5 dual out,F&B 48mm tb,8.5mm msd wires,Jet 2 module,R/S 180 t-stat,accel E-super coil,optima red top, Apc euro corners,clear headlites,lund grill inserts,linex bedliner

crower stainless steel 1.7's yes you need to mod
the baffles by knocking them down the clear the
studs.

The harlands I have not tried yet but plan to
according to tazzy he did not need to

Any Bosch FMS injector design 2 or 3 4 or 6
hole sparay pattern are better than the org
injectors that come on these trucks

matched better and there spray patterns give
better atomization of the fuel smother running
better fuel economy.

I call them the 1 hole wonders

Once again, the lone objector. New cam/gear/springs/HD pushrods/1.6's. The 1.7's help, but they have to follow the cam you have, so all they can improve on is a lazy cam profile. Starting with a new, better cam, you have a much better foundation. Try it out with stock rockers. If you feel you still need more top-end, when you get rollers, get the 1.7's instead of 1.6. Just my angle on it.

Thanks guys for the input. I had planned on the 1.7's instead of getting a new cam, so I guess that is what I will do. Thanks

True but the 1.7's are a lot less work than
a cam change and do help a lot.

Just pull the covers bolt on and your off

cam change
involves a lot more labor and more parts, draining
the collent system and removing the intake for
most the 1.7's are a very good way to go
