I think I'm going to replace my serpentine belt soon and thought I'd pull the factory fan at the same time.
What electric fan would everyone recommend?
Do I just need to loosen the large retaining nut behind the fan to remove it?

The black magic 150 is a nice fan, comes with it's own shroud so the stock one can be removed. I got mine from Summit Racing it was around 200 bucks.The large nut behind the fan is the only thing that holds the stock fan on. Just need to find a way to hold the blades,not too difficult though.

You don't even need to find a way to hold the fan from turning.
Just put a 1 7/16 wrench on the nut and give it light whack with
a hammer and it will come loose easily. I just installed one on
my 99 and it was not hard to loosen that nut at all and I didn't
have to worry about the fan turning or even try to hold it in
place.
