Recently I have noticed that around 3200 RPM, the 3.9 has a sweet spot.. The engine is slow to spool up, but when (mainly in 3rd) 3200 rpms hit on the tach.. the motor pulled like crazy..I don't know what it is but it pulls really hard... it feels like a Honda VTECH, but sounds way better.. Anyone else notice this??

Yeah, seems like right about 3000 it really hits and starts to make some serious pull. But it only does it until about 4250, so there isn't a lot of room there. With my gearing though, I can keep it between 3000 and 4250 when shifting, so it'll move.
I've also noticed, with some of the mods, that this number starts to creep down. Mine is starting to hit closer to 2750 now. Although I'm not sure what I did to make it do that...

Even floored, your truck shifts at 3100? Thats -not- right... you've got an auto, right? I think maybe you should try adjusting the throttle kickdown (Or whatever dodge calls it...?). The engine is good rev-wise to a lot more than 3100, closer to 5000. You'll get valve float between 4750 and 5000 though, and it really noticably stops making power about 4200... but still, your missing out on the big -grunt- portion of the power band! No -wonder- your complaining about lack of power!

i was impliing that the red line was at 3100
it was a sarcastic comment
but seriously i find that flooring it is less effective then like 3/4 preasure. when i floor it it kind of freaks out
it shifts at 4800 unless u have OD off and ur in third

i know what you mean about 3/4 throttle.....sometimes my truck feels that way, too. one thing i have noticed with my mods is that if i floor it, it likes to shift at about 5200 rpms and it jerks pretty good, too.....nothin' like a stock one.....maybe it is the jet II or the truck has adjusted to me!

i think i should get a jet 2 to keep me from wasting 3500 on turbo. 3500 which i cannot afford to spend
so intense u really recomend jet 2 and msd 6a?
also did u install ur roller rockers or did u have a mechanic do it?

I had the Jet Stage-II on my '97 several years ago and it made a noticeable difference in performance (much better). It's not going to be a huge difference though as the "chips" can only do so much.
Cold Air Intake, Modified TB, Headers, 180 T'stat, and Super Unleaded with the Jet Stage-II works really well. Once you change the injectors, add a supercharger/nitrous, they don't work very well anymore.

yeah i've noticed the same sweet spot, third gear is definitely my favorite, sounds awesome with my Intense Performance Stage-II!
