Subject: What parts will I need?
IP: Logged

Message:
Since I am having the 1.7 roller rockers installed on my 93 dakota with various knocking coming from under the valve covers, is there any other parts that I will need other than new valve gaskets? I think this will solve the knocking. Thanks for your help ahead of time.

if you use a little care the gaskets are rubber and reuseable.
sure the knocking isnt the timing chain ????

ive heard that if you put new rockers in, sometimes you have to rip out the baffles from inside the valve covers because the new rockers will hit them and that is bad. Steve

There is no need to rip the baffles out. They can be bent down enough to clear the rockers using a 2x4 and a hammer. You just need to bend the ends until you have at least 1/8 inch clearance for putting oil in and letting the blowby out.
