Sorry, its a new engine so I don't think you'll see any parts right
now. You can always start with a homebrew intake and custom
exhaust.

Congratulations on your new truck though, I'll bet the 3.7 is a
killer V6.

Don't feel too bad 03SXT, your 3.9l makes 225 lb/ft of torque @ 3200 rpm, the 3.7l has to hit 4400 rpm to make its 235 lb/ft. I'll keep my little ol' 3.9, thank you very much.

The new 3.7 sux. I have a 2005 and there are NO parts available for real power. From mopar or anyone else. Not to mention that the programming of the transmission keeps the truck from accelerating off the line quickly. Hell-wish I would've went with something else!

Unfortunetly, Tim is correct: the 3.7 V6 engine is pathetic in the Dakotas. I had (just turned-in from lease last week) a 2005 Dakota 4WD quad cab. Its was bad from both a performance and a fuel economy point of view (I could have lived with one problem or the other but not both.)
The good news is the 4.7 V8's now can use E85, so when my wife's Durango (also a 2005 with the 4.7 V8) comes off lease I am probably going to swap it out for one of them - if I can get one on my shoestring budget.
Wish me luck!

PS Is there any hope that the guys at Dodge/Chrysler will ever provide us with a diesel option that doesn't cost ~$50K?

hughes engines will do your throttle body
15hp 20 torque

you can also get custom cams for another 20 25hp

Thats a 40hp gain putting the 3.7 at 270hp

We have only done 2 trucks like this they both
turned out great

cold air intake and a low restriction catback

custom flash another 10

280hp at the crank

get the halo plugs they help a lot also

Larry,

Where did you get the custom cam from and how much do they cost? Also, what cold air intake did you go with? Was it specifically for the 3.7l of did you modify a 4.7l intake?

People are complaining about the performance and gas mileage on a '05 Quad Cab 4wd with a little V6. Do you not realize how big your damn truck is. If you wanted performance out of the truck you should have gotten the V8. Damn.

Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer.
well at least a stock one
