ok heres the setup my dad has just got a truck its a 01 chevy silverado 2500 hd ls 4x4 extended cab with the 6.0L v8 flowmaster duals k&n filter etc i was thinking of racing him in my 98 auto rc v6 dak (glasspack 180 t-stat 3923s cold air intake jet stage 2 chip accell coil and 300+ wires borg warner cap+rotor 3:55 rear end) should i even try or should i wait untill i get my v8 tb??

i dont think u would b close with the v8 tb and the rest of ur mods. u would need some rr and intake manifold work, mayeb even sum 390 gears. our trucks run 17's stock :( those things will def see 16 sec time slips, the 6.0 has good power. im just being realistic, but who cares run him and tell us the outcome!

well he dose sometimes on empty roads (we live out in the boonies when i visit my parents i talk motors with my dad) i used to race him in his 95 f150 cc with a 302 and spanked him all the time.
Maybe il try anyways you never know i might get a better launch or maybe i will wait untill i get true catback headers and 1.7 ratio rockers maybe then i will stand a chance.
i wont even dare think of racing his car 72 cutlass 350 performance intake holley 750 double pumper 350 turbo tranny w/shift kit he would blow my doors off LOL oh well I can always dream of the day when my dak grows 2 more cylinders ;-)

if it wasn't an HD i would say it might be close, but I have drove my dad's HD, and just touching the gas pedal lightly will show some good strong power.
So with his modded one, i don't think you would even hold a candle to it. But like everyone said, its worth a try, but just cause it says HD (Heavy Duty) doesn't mean it weighs alot, it just means its got the tools to haul ass with even the heaviest load.

yeah it seems pretty fast it just dosent seem as fast as my dak probably because its bigger. i said i would race him he laughed at me and said he would pull the camper and still beat me LOL
ah well as long as i can still put a hurtin on those ricers im happy ;-)
someday when i get my r/t i will gladly hand his ass to him

i think he ment that i would tow my lil camper 1962 12 ft trotwood and he would tow theirs its a 74 16 ft i dont remember the make my truck tows alright dosent like hills though then again what does with a camper oh btw a little off topic but i adjusted my tv cable today 5 teeth out and WOW what a difference it shifts alot better and dosent slip between gears under wot and under light throttle it feels like a mild shift kit its great!!!!!
