If your building an engine from scratch by starting out with a different machined block and you've got the money, you oughta just have it stroked and go all out on this one... I think Larry from J&J is "or rather was now", getting 265 rwhp out of his V6... And it's NA... If you really have the money for a really built engine, then krcperformance.com has supercharger kits for the v6's "98 and up I think"... It would be cheaper to go with the v8, but 318's have sludge problems "really bad", not to mention if you go all out, how many people out there can say they have a 300+rwhp v6 3.9l in their Dodge Dakota? That's what I thought:)) The only thing about the v6's is that when you find performance parts like these, they tend to be very very expensive://

Larry I noticed your going to bigger special made pistons now along with your different heads... How much extra hp you getting now?

Don;t know what I will get I am trying for 300
hp at the wheels but still not there

267/305 last dyno

from 10 to 1 to 10.5 to 1 I have to have the
pistons custom made they are not avalible off the
shelf.

Also differant heads, intake manifold, and a
little more lift on the cam and I will be using
the 4.0 stroke crank this time.

I will also be going to a 2200 stall over my 1600
because I know there will be nothing under 2000
rpm with the new cam

I have a small fortion in this motor

Going to dyno with both a 48mm and a 50mm F&B
after a 200 mile learn on both but before I do
that I want to get a few thousand miles on the
new motor.

I am looking at like 2 months for the pistons to
get here well at least it will be warm out by
then

Larry, I've got one of those interresting questions... To start with I cleaned up my heads to get them ready for the port and polish this weekend and I'm kinda confused... How in the world can you port match anything to the intake side of these heads??? The exhaust side you can do major work to, but if you try to do anything major to the intake, you'll just cut through into the oil passageway for the pushrods... Other than area around in under vavle surface, what else can you do??? Do you have to weld in some cover metal for the intake side??? Is it even possible to do that without interfearing with pushrods??? From the looks of it, you can do minor port matching, but, nothing to full and needed potential... Besides the exhaust side, this almost seems worthless... Are there other heads out there with stuff like this allready done to them??? I noticed you mentioned going with different heads...

Also you don't happen to know hughesengines email do you??? I couldn't find one on their website, only phone numbers, and I'm ussually not around to call durring business hours://

Where did you get you stroker kit from??? I was thinking about going ahead and redoing whole engine, while I'm into it:)) With some 40 over pistons "inward dome" for supercharger and a lot stoughter connecting rods "know of any good or better yet excellent kits out there"... What's some price figures???

I know krcperformance has the superchargers and hughes has some stroker kits, not listed:(( They serriously need to upgrade their website... And I may go with 5.9 supercharger if I actually do go that route, powerdyne or something that's a little cheaper and can run higher psi's...

Thanks Again,
Greg

yeah, mine is a 94, with 180,000 on it, which way do anyone on here recommend going? i really don't like the fact that my et is 18 seconds. really horrible. i don't really want to switch to a v8 because it can be more costly than it is worth, also, anyone here know guessing how much just getting a better cam, new ported and polished heads and the throttle body that is modified would give me?
