Had an ice storm go through last night... Our town didn't salt the roads worth a crap today. Drove to school and right as I stepped out of my truck, I hear skidding and look to see a Ford Ranger 4x4 skidding towards me. I was like, "Sh*t...I'm gonna get drilled." She was trying to stop, but anti-locks don't allow that to happen on a parking lot that is a sheet of ice. She had her wheels cranked and was trying to miss me but "SMACK!" I got owned. She blasted me in the bedside on the driver's side. Now I got a giant dent in my bedside. The paint unfortunately did crack a little bit on the bottom so I guess I won't be able to just pop it out and leave it be. The city cop who works in our school came out and wrote up a report for us. For those of you who have been around a while, you might recall me posting a year ago when I spun my truck out and drilled a sign (busting up the bedside on the passenger side). I shoulda known the other side needed matched up. When she rolled down her window the first thing I said was, "Well...you matched it up!" and I busted out laughing. I'm sure she didn't get it... but ah well. I was nice about it. While it was her fault, I don't think she really could have avoided it much. When our parking lot gets slick, it's just a matter of time before something gets hit. I bout hit a car two day ago cuz of ice...I tried to slow down and I was on a solid sheet of ice and all my anti-locks wanted to do was let me roll forward. While the cop was writing up the report another car went skidding like the girl that hit me and just missed tagging another parked truck. Sooo....all in all, a sh*tty day. Do ya think it's a sign that I should trade my truck in? First I spin out and hit a sign cuz my transmission acts up and downshifts any time other than when it's supposed to, then I hit a deer (just got a nifty lil ding on my fender) and now this...

I tell ya what...if things went the way I wanted them, I'd have a black V8 Dodge Ram 4x4 running some knobby 35" mud tires. Sure they'd wear out easily on dry pavement and I'd be vibrated right outta my cab when driving on the highway, but that ain't important. Either way... I can't afford it. Stupid laws here have to restrict what kind of jobs I hold and how many hours I work and a bunch of other BS... I know it's for our protection, but maybe if they just had laws where you proved it was your choice to do the job you choose and the hours and you weren't being forced into that (aka child labor...yes, I do know what it is), then all is well. But nooooo....they have to try and run your life until you're 18 (and then some). Sorry for my lil rant... I'm just not a big fan of the current US Gov't and it's not all because of Bush. It's the way the gov't works in general.
