Hey. Got q quick quetion for the people who like to street race. How the hell do you take off in this thing. I had a neon 5 spd before and that was so easy to just go. On my 3.9 Magnum 5 spd i spin so easy. I wanna a good start so I dont suck it up against racing my friends 92 Jetta.... Any Suggestions? Let me know :)

Thanks

Blue oval for life...lmfao... that's cuz you're stuck with it. Nobody will buy it off ya when after you decide to sell it. I think if you pay like $300, the junkyard will take it. No more being stuck with the blue oval for life.

What I do not to spin is shift into low, get on the brake, and then get on the gas at the same time. When you let off the brake, you will get good pickup with no spinning. But that is in an automatic if that helps.

I do what big dave does,

i power brake to the point that my wheels are just about to break loose, and then when the green light hits let off the brake and stomp the gas.

and if you do that right you truck should jump.

when i pull this off right i can get atleast a half truck advantage.

But i also have wide tires 255/65/16

just don't do that too long i don't think thats good on the tranny.
mine always seems to be "hunting" for gears, i adjusted my tv cable and its better. last night, i broke down and bought a transgo shift kit. now to call around and see who will install it the cheapest. :-)

i hope it shifts as good as the 350 turbo in my dad's 72 cutlass. if hes on the gas really hard it chirps second and kinda kicks sideways. way cool!!

im sure ur dak will hit hard into gears maybe cherp but theres no way in hell its goin to break em loose, but its nice thinkin that it would..we should all pull togeather sumplace and race eachother then go get hammerd :)it would b fun! daffy im sure a 100 shot would help u rip sideways in 2nd...u shouldent even need to tlaunch the truck to beat that jetta! just hammer it and go that things got no chance those are like mid 17 sec cars

only in my dream world it would lol :-)
as long as it feels more positive and less gear guesswork. its annoying sometimes. like if i go around a corner get up to about 30 under light throttle it will go back into 2nd for about 2 seconds then back into 3rd. wtf, i just hope the shift kit helps with that. (maybe more tv cable adjustment too) it dosent slip, it just can't make up its mind. its gonna get a transgo attitude adjustment!

where do you live slow97dakota? i live in ohio and i'm only 20 so no interest in drinking for me (yet hehe)

The reason that you can only stay in second for a second is because second and first gears are rediculously close. If I am driving regularly and not stomping it, mine will shift into second and then into third right after it. The gears are really close. I think that they are too close to do any good, but that is just me!
