 Subject: Lights CAN'T turn off

I have a 97 dodge dakota. Tonight i went to start my truck, and when i turned the key, nothing...not a peep...totally dead. I tried boosting it and got some power back when i noticed the headlights came on....the weird thing is the lights were SHUT OFF and the truck still wouldn't start. I'm thinking some kind of wiring or electrical problem somewhere?? Any ideas??

...There is a huge possibility that it is your head light switch....when you boosted it you may have shorted out that switch cause the switch to be stuck on or there is power or ground wire short somewhere else...but try the headlight switch first....biggest bet!
