My friend and I went to the drag strip and raced our Daks. My 92 3.9 with a Flowmaster ran 17.0 while his 98 3.9 stock ran an embarrassing 18.6. Those were our best times of the night also. Both trucks are regular cab automatics. I would have thought it would have been a litte closer than that. Weight obviously does make a big difference.

my best run so far is a 16.3 and thats with a 00'
5spd with jba headers, airaid intake, flowmaster
30 series delta flow, and a relocated IAT. since
then i've put on underdrive pully, and jba wires.
once the new year starts i'm gonna add new 1.7
roller rockers, upgrade the gears to 3.92 with an
LSD, and a short shifter. oh and a new TB. so with
that i should be well into the 15s

It doesn't matter how old any one is. Wether U race a truck or a car. I've been going to the track going on 10 years, and I've seen just about everything run the 1/4. All that matters is U love what your building, and U have fun doing it.
For the record I don't race my truck either, and this isn't the first time I've heard of someone running a truck. If U race, U shouldn't bash others for racing to, wether thay are 17 or 70.
Also if NHRA won't let U run your car then there is somthing wrong with your car. Keep on racing, keep the sport alive!!

Lesly: A .566 light impressive. I haven't forgot about the 'Cuda pic's just put her away for the winter. If U still want to see I'll post around spring.

1992 & 1993 Dakotas where rockets compared to newer models. I had a 1993 dakota sport 5spd, and it ran 16.01 bone stock! After a few mods including V8 TB, Ported intake to match Large TB size, Mopar performace Computer, 14" x 3" Open K&N, JBA Headers, Gibson exhaust, and Dropped 3-3 with 17x8 Centerline trigons it ran an amazing 14.9 in the quarter at the Mopar Nationals at Englishtown NJ. R/T Killer!!

i'm 21 thanks. and while it can;t take the
modified mustangs and corvettes and such. it holds
it own agains;t other v-6s. i'm not gonna compare
my truck to a 67 mustang with a twin turbo'd 351W
in it. i'm not stupid but i will compare it
against any one off this board because they all
have v-6 trucks. its all about competition. i'm
workin on my truck to make it faster and
eventually it will be very fast. but that involves
alot of work and money. but thats not gonna stop
me from modding out my engine now and goin to the
track. so you can have your opinion it matters not
to me

hey 93 dak, what rear end did you have on your sport when it ran a 16.01 stock? i've got an auto w/ 3.55 rear end, mostly stock (K&N air filter, stock hat) w/ a best of 16.8 w/ a .603 reaction. i'm wondering if the transmission really has that much to do w/ it mostly...
