lol!!

gotta take a sheet before you go to the track man... especially after Taco Bell night.

actually its 5'11" and 200 lbs but that was close..

when i ran that, here what was removed:

a/c compressor
lines
evaporator
condenser
center console
drivers side airbag
rear bumper
spare tire
lowering assembly
heat sheilds
front bumper brackets
tailgate

also, my ladder bar setup probably weighs less than the stock springs and shocks... not sure though.

now here is my list of removal:

a/c compressor
lines
evaporator
condenser
center console
drivers side airbag
rear bumper
spare tire
lowering assembly
heat sheilds
front bumper brackets
tailgate
* powersteering
* inner fenders
* sway bar
* battery tray and bracket
* passenger side air bag
* heater core/blower motor
* a/c box
* a/c heater runners
* stereo (gonna listen to the big block;-)
* speakers
* air bag module
* air bag turn off
* ABS controller
* most of the wiring harness (those things are heavy!!
* EVAP system/hardware

its kinda crazy how much less it weighs... i'll just say this, the truck sits up higher on the front end with the big block then it did with the V6!

all i have left that i want to do is:

relocate battery
lighter seats
fuel cell

Hey Greg,
How did you get your center console out? Just remove the 4 bolts holding it down and pull it out or what? I'm wanting to remove mine, but DAMN it's hard to get in there! Don't you also have it set up with a floor shifter instead of one on the column?

Josh

High 14's.....

if i had to do it all over again I'd definitly add some better pistons in the bottom end. A set of 10.5:1 comp slugs would make a would of difference.

driver's side airbag is removed by two screws going in from the back of the steering wheel. Then just unplug the wire.

passenger's side airbag is removed by taking the WHOLE dash out of the truck and drilling out the four or five rivets that hold it in place.. then just unplug the wire.

Centerconsole needs to be removed with the seats attached. Remove four bolts that hold down the driver's side, then remove the four that hold down the passenger's side... remove the three pieces out together. Then unbolt the centerconsole from underneath (four bolts)

mods then:

home brew intake (already sold mopar FIPK)
worked V6 TB
modified intake manifold
jba headers
1.7 rr
flowmaster single in/single out
electric fan
msd hardware

and some usuals

dodgeboy used a 100 shot also

tazzy,

i know what you mean about the creature comforts. The only thing i kinda missed was the a/c. That was the only serious removal before the big block. I probably used it about four times when i had it but i missed it when it was gone. All the stuff i removed now is because my truck isnt a daily driver anymore. Infact, it hasnt been driven since august. The only thing i will probably add later is the power steering... i just dont have one for a big block yet.

the stereo i could live without. The whole time i had the turbocharger, i didnt have one... it was rather entertaining by itself... zzzzzzzzz... spffffff zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz spffffffff... besides, i dont think i will be able to hear my stereo over my motor.

Slow97,

all the heat sheilds... and those screws only allow the airbag and horn to come off (one assembly). The steering wheel can only come off with a 11/16 socket and steering wheel puller. When i removed mine, i had the airbag light come one.

Intence,

You can go with a set of KB240's Keith Black
pistons that is what I have in my 400 with the
mopar 268/284 cam, I have built qute a few 400's
this way and they run almost identical to the old
383 Magnum actualy its hard to tell 1 from the
other they are so close in speed and power.

383's are getting hard to come by I only have 3
left 2 69 and 1 70 engine and am keeping those
for myself, the 400 is the alternitive to a 383
low block replacement in the old muscle cars and
easier to find.

KB can also make them any comp you want I always
go 10 to 1 runs pump gas perfict,10 degree's on
the timing with a totle advance of 50 55 they run
nice and strong
