Just bought a 99 solar yellow 3.9 5 speed

I've been looking at pics of intakes etc, what's the diff between the 3.9 and 360 that the V6 doesn't get a K&N intake? has anyone got one on a V6 with a little modification?

thanks, Joel

Search it, it's been done. There are also other companies that make systems for the 3.9. I have an airaid on mine. It bolted on in about ten minutes. The hardest part of the install was getting the factory box out (that was about six minutes of the install). Run a web search there are several companies that make intakes for the 3.9. I have read that the K&N can be installed with little or no modifications.

Depending upon your definition of "intake", there are many levels you can pursue. You can go with cold air, throttle bodies, intake manifolds, blowers, etc., and the list goes on. KRC Performance and Hughes Engines are the best sources for V6 info and parts. There are quite a few mods to be done to a V6 to wake it up and get better performance. Go to www.hughesengines.com to get a great overview of performance upgrades that can be done at whatever level of performance you are looking for. There is a tech article specifically for V6s.
