Did it make any difference at all? My 3.9 is stock and I was thinking about putting one in for now because im limited on cash (race-quads are $$$)

I was going to get the K&N drop in for my Gen 3 almost a year ago. I opted for a chrome air intake off ebay with the K&N tube cone shaped filter. I read your post where you made your own and it worked better than the square drop in. Any idea how much better? Just curious?

The stock air box is hurting you way more than the filter itself. Get cold air (and more of it) into the box and you'll see a noticeable improvement.
