or is it iron block and aluminuim head?

Go stick a magnet to each, it wont stick to aluminum, but will to iron.

dang you mean to tell me they kept it all iron. holy crap.

cause with the neons the iron heads and aluminuim block was aboutthe biggest mistake they could have made. caused the head gaskets to go bad.

see i am not asking stupid questions i dont know a dang thing about Kota's cause i had a neon before

On the later model neons, it was the gasket itself that caused the failure, not the block/head combo. Once changed, there was no more problem.
My wifes 98 Neon had to have the newer gasket. She ran it another 70K without a problem. Her 2003 is doing fine so far (35K).

yea i know it was mainly the gasket but they didn't make the gasket right so it would exspand at the right time and stuff.

had two 97's and a 2003 now. only had trouble with one of the 97's
