i am having a problem with my 3.9 stalling after it warms up, i have replaced the coil, fuel filter, air filter, and scc, and cant seem to figure out what the problem is. I know that i am loosing spark from the coil, because just after it dies, i turned the engine over with the coild wire off the distributor and had no spark. All the info i can find is for TBI, would these problems be what is affecting me, any help on this would be greatly appreciated, i have a 87 dakota 3.9 carb
auto. thanks
chris

I have a 92 3.9, might be a good idea to check the distributer pick up (aka sync sensor). It's in the distributer and very easy about $45... other than that... I still can't figure out my own problems... so good luck.

Any luck with the 87 if not check the dist. components and ALL you're electrical connections. Also make sure that the egr circuit is operating ok if i recall right this is negative feed back egr valve they are notorious for choking up the small orfice for the feedback valve. Back the dist. make sure that the relucter wheel inside the dist.that is fixed to the shaft is not doing the hoola and that you don't have a bunch of iron filings in the base of the distributor.
