 Subject: Now I'm Stumped

Just did a general Tune-up to my 87 V6 Dakota. Refered to my Haynes manual put the wire on the way the book says to Truck just turns over. Tried advancing both foward and reverse 1 cylinbder on the cap thinking maybey I'm off a cylinder, Nothing. Then I descided to completly change the order by reversing it - Bingo! the thing starts butr it's sluggish BIG TIME! Changed it back again nothing, reversed it Bingo! WTF! Any clue as to why or am I just reading this manual wrong???

No need to reply I figured out the problem, I had the order going counter clock-wise on the distributor rather than clockwise.
Problem has been resolved
