my 92 standard dak is not shifting into 2nd easily. Mechanic said it might be the syncros, so they'd have to take the trany apart. Anybody had similar problems? or know any things i should try before throw out alot of $ for an overhaul?

The syncros do go bad it is not common but
does happen.
