I wish I had found this site earlier! Just offering some info: I have a 95 Dak CC with 220,000 kilometres (136,000 miles) 3.9 auto that would miss at idle in the winter only. (Canadian winters can be brutal!!!) I tried a new cap, rotor, plugs & wires to no avail. No trouble codes showed either, and I was stumped. A new O2 sensor helped for a while, but the problem came back. Then a trouble code for the EGR system showed. Having the EGR valve changed finally solved the problem!!!!!

A couple of questions: My truck vibrates while stopped at a light in gear. Could this be a problem with the auto trans? (i.e. torque con., bearing, valves?) Is the trans just worn out?

Any ideas would be great!

(And for anyone wondering, the timing chain was changed at 200,000 km (124,000) mi.)

It is posible the TCC Torque converter lockup
clutch.

Change the trans fluid and filter and go from
there

Use Only chrysler ATF+4 or amsoil universal syn
don't use any dextron or cheap fluid.

As long as it shifts ok and does not slip there
is no reason to rebuild or replace the trans I
have seen these transmissions go well over 300,000
and never been touched except for reg maintainance

Thanks for the info Larry. I just had the fluid and filter changed aprox. 3 weeks ago. The tranny still seems to preform properly so I'm not worried. I am planning on trading it in at some point soon for a v-8 powered dakota or ram truck. There is nothing like the sound of a Mopar v-8!
