Hi all, I noticed that I can see a small spark coming out from the igintion coil and the spark plug boot at the beginning of the plug wire between the distributor cap. The plug looks all the way on and looks secure.I replaced the cap, rotor and plug wires about a year ago and the plugs about 6 months ago. The truck will run fine sometimes and really poorly others. The plugs wires i bought where cheap, should i buy a better pair? Did i maybe mess up the firing order? Please help, thanks.

Spray the wires on the cap with some silicon spray
if there is any mosture it will evap and also keep
it from happening again.

If you can see spark there I would replace the cap
it will be making a carbon track that the spark
will follow to groud and create a miss and make it
run bad.

Also take a close look at the end of that wire

Napa MO26 MO28 cap and rotor solid brass incerts

Fireing order, clockwise rotation #1 is marked on
the cap

Thanks, alot Larry, it turned out to be a bad wire. I thought because the wire were so new, that it couldn't be the wires, but it was. I guess the wire had a hole in it, that i coundn't see. I'll never buy AC Delco again. Thanks again, Zane

Mitch you mean 8.5

I am also running the MSD 8.5 super conductors

They are a very good wire and if not listed for
your V6 just get the same year for a 5.2 you
just have 2 wires left over and they fit perfict
and no messing around with cutting lengths and
installing the boot and end.

A Great Wire at a Great price around $60 a set
less than you would pay for some el-cheapos that
as you found out don't hold up very well

don't ever use AC DELCO on your Dodge, AC DELCO is GM and made the lower standards GM uses.

Thanks for the point out Larry. I installed a set of 8.8 wires on a @*#@^* ford mustang and had that number on my brain.

The MSD wires are sweet...i finally broke down and bought some for my Dak, along with the Napa cap and Rotor. she runs a lil smoother, and definitely gets better MPG now
