Stupid #$%#@!! truck!
My truck wont idle when I first start it, I have to keep on the gas to make it idle but once I get it going, its fine after that. I'm thinking maybe the IAC solenoid is going bad. The IAC has 130,000 miles on it and I just transfered it to the V8 tb. I also put a underdrive pulley on at the same time, could it not be getting enough voltage to idle ??
What do you guys think ??

When the vehicle starts does it have good flair up? RPM's race then dies? or does it sputter. If it sputters or does not flair try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the throttle body and make sure it is clean around the throttle plates and where the IAC motor gets installed. Clean all with carb cleaner and reinstall. Try disconnecting the battery while you clean. This will reset the adaptive memory causing the computer to re-learn where to set the IAC for future starts. It may stall the first start, but should be fine after started for 2min.

Starts like normal, RPMs come up then dies. I changed the throttle body about 2 weeks ago and the body itself was spotless when I put it on, but the IAC is the old one from the other TB. I think I'll pull it all apart tonight & clean the IAC.
thanks for you input.

Could be low voltage or the wrong body

92 to 95 = 92 to 95 V8 body

96 and up 96 and up V8 body

Also check your TPS voltage

Put a digital volt meter on the batt and start
and watch the voltage should have 12.5 to 14.5
if you drop below that you will have stall and
idle probs
