Sometimes during a bit of power my tranny will sound like a slow speed shift going into 3rd.(rpms go up approx 300rpm before i'm in 3rd)
also once or twice it bounced off the rev limit.I thought it was removed with super chip program..
My shifts are around 2300rpms.
.
Thanks for any advice..

I'm in the process of saving for a transgo kit..
but that will need to wait till after Christmas..

TCC torque converter clutch engaging right after
3rd gear shift. clutch chatter.

I just looked up some specs on a 92 ram and they
were recomending a TPS voltage of .8 to 1.2 the
week before I jacked mine up to .93 and the lock
up speed was raised its now sitting at 1.1 volt.

Now it will hold 3rd gear half throttle to 60
than lock up and than drop O/D 3/4 throttle it
will hold 3rd to 80 than lockup than O/D

Before I raised the voltage it would lock up
almost right after the 3rd shift unless I got
on it heavy.

Don't know how the newer trucks will react but
give it a try, just watch your idle after a certian point it will raise the idle so let it
idle a while when you first start it.

Larry..
Lets see if I understand..Are you saying that if I raise my TPS(throttle pos sensor)VDC..
It will alow the trans to remain in 3rd longer?

Mines revs 300rpm before 3rd is engaged..but not all the time..

I had a local quick lube type place to a trans flush when I first got the truck.25k miles..but they used dexron.
That stayed in approx 200 miles..had pennsoil multi vehical synthic installed.(say a difference in shifting right away (good thing)

Just trying to get the best from my trans with out dropping it..The home owners association would jump up and down if they saw me dropping a Trans in my drive way..( I hate deed restricted communities..lol)

Thanks for all the good info..I've gotten from you..Larry..
Now just if you lived close to me.I think my Dak would be a power monster..

Yes it will make the trans react faster also for
downshifts a quick push to 1/4 1/2 throttle will
bring it out of lockup faster and down into 3rd.

I just ran my truck for the third time today with
the volts at 1.1 and man does my trans work nice
now where as I used to have to stomp it to the
floor before a quick 1/4 1/2 will drop it down
at 60 just pushing it down from crusing at 60 it
droped out of lock up and held 3rd to 4200 about
85mph. I can hold the gears to 5000 if I tromp it
hard to the floor and inguage the second valve
on the TV valve in the body.

Bring your voltage up a little at a time and be
sure you shut the key off a few secs than start
and let idle, some trucks will reach a threshold
were they will not idle down over so many volts
but it worked out great for me and is worth
looking into on these trucks.

Makes the trans so much more responsive.

Put ATF+4 in the thing, adjust the kick down band correctly (with a torque wrench and the proper back off) and quit trying to re-invent the wheel.

Not trying to re-invent the wheel just making it
roll faster

It sounds like you don't even have a clue as to
what a differance tweaking everything you can will
do for these trucks

Take a stock truck and do it and you will not
beleave the differance it makes in performance
and fuel economy and just overall driveability

Wasn't talking at you J and J. If you put any universal fluid in an electronic Torqueflight slyle transmission, you are going to have problems. 2 to 1 says that tazzy checkes the fluid level in Park also.

I have been running Amsoil universal
synthetic for the last 30,000 miles with no probs
and the trans shifts better and runs cooler by
about 30 degrees.

I just checked it today and its nice and red and
smells like new fluid and I am pushing a lot
more power through than most. the trans has
80,000 miles and the only thing done was a shift
kit

I would recomend the Amsoil or the Chrysler ATF +4

But I do agree you should not use dextron just
like chrysler says or any cheep fluid and those
are the only 2 I do recomend for these tranys

tazzy what were you at before, you should notice
a little better throttle and trans response

I followed the instructions on my transmission and checked my fluid in neutral... but my truck ended up rolling backwards down my long sloping driveway at about 30 mph! What's up with that?!

*smells the sarcasm in the air* :)
