Subject: Fuel Injection Plugs???
IP: Logged

Message:
Hi....I have a 93 Dakota 3.9L V6. I recently had my computer repaired. When I picked the truck up I noticed a miss and my "Check Engine" light was on. When I asked the mechanic he said the one fuel injection plug was bad. He also said he could get a pigtail and fix it for me. I know I can fix it myself. The problem I'm having is finding a plug. I was told to try a junkyard or a Dodge dealer. I haven't had luck with a junkyard. The Dodge dealer needs the part number to get it for me. I can't seem to find the number. Does anyone know it or can find it for me? Or possibly somewhere else I can get this part? Thank you.

huh?

To find the bad plug simply run the engine and unplug the injectors one at a time. When you unplug a good one the engine will prolly die. When you unplug the bad one the engine will keep running like it is.

Dodge doesn't sell pig tails, only complete harnesses. Go to AutoZone, NAPA or PepFags.

Thanks for the fast response. I know which plug is bad. I can pull the wire right out of the plug. I went to Advanced and they said only junkyards or Dodge dealers have the plugs and harness.

If the plastic part of the connector isn't damaged the dealer should beable to replace the metal terminal inside. (or you can do it if oyu have a set of terminal picks). Splicing on a whole different connector will be easier though.

It's not the plastic piece. The one wire is able to be pulled out of the connector. So I need a new connector with about 3 inches of wire so I can splice into the old wiring.
